QATAR will host the fifth Ministerial Meeting of the Asian Co-operation Forum from May 23 to 25. It is being conducted by the Permanent Committee for Organising Conferences in the Foreign Ministry.
“A total of 28 ministers are to participate in the meeting and discuss items which include energy, finance and technology,” HE Mohamed al-Rumaihi, assistant to the foreign minister for follow-up affairs and chairman of the committee has said.
The forum expresses the common aspirations of Asian countries since it was established in 2002 with 28 states as members. It focuses on political and economic issues in the region.
The conference opens new horizons for economic reforms and increased economic integration in Asia, which is rich in resources and markets and has a wide range of unexploited opportunities.
The participating countries have a joint approach in their social affairs in promoting family values and education, which has become a common philosophy for inter-Asian co-operation.
