ROLE OF RELIGIONS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF HUMAN CIVILIZATION

The conference aims at bringing out the effectiveness of religions on, and their cooperation in estapli shing human civilization through deepening research and discussion in the following areas :
1 - Religion,s perception of Man, his dignity , freedom and rights as creator of civilization and its object.(means and object).
2 - Highlighting common religious values that contribute in the establishment, enforcement and development of civilization such us: A – religion,s respect for human reason as the instrument for scientific research and as a way to civilizational advancement.
B –Realistic stance of religions in combating superstitions and myths. C – Openness,intercommunication and human cooperation.
D - Religions responsibility towards ecology and natural resources.

Honourable Guests,

            I would like to welcome you to the Third Conference on the Dialogue of Religions which has become an annual occasion to which we all look forward to deepen dialogue and communication among their followers for a mutual understanding that would realize the best results to the benefit of our peoples, nations and all mankind, if possible. 

            I hope that this year’s deliberations would come out of the domain of generalities into an in-depth discussion of detailed central issues. The goal of this dialogue has always been to make the knowledge of each side of the other deeper  and their relation be based on reciprocal respect.

Doha Third Conference for Religions Dialogue Recommendations

The Doha Third Conference for Religions Dialogue, under the generous auspices of His Highness the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, was held on the 29th and 30th of June 2005.

After the opening ceremony, enhanced by the presence of His Highness the Emir who pronounced the inaugural speech, the participants to the Conference, scholars from the three Islamic, Christian and Jewish religions, held six scientific sessions and after discussions and profound dialogue, the Conference recommends the following:
