| The Emiri Decree Approving the Establishment of DICID | | | Last July, HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani issued, the Emiri decree No. 20 of 2010 approving the establishment of Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue which aims to become a center for advocating peaceful tolerance and acceptance of others. The DICID aims to activate religious values in finding solutions to problems and issues that concern humanity.DICID aims to broaden the scope of dialogue including aspects of life that interact with religion, and increase the network of those involved in dialogue to include researchers, academics and those who are concerned with the relationship between religious values and real life issues.The decree was welcomed by large number of scholars and researchers, who were interested in interfaith dialogue and the cooperation between different civilizations and cultures. Praising the decision, they considered that the establishment of the DICID will contribute to the efforts in building bridges of cooperation and understanding between different nations, religions and cultures, contributing to an atmosphere of peace and justice.The members of the Board of Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue take this opportunity to thank His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi, Foreign Ministers' Assistant for Follow Up Affairs and Head of the Permanent Committee for Organizing Conferences, for all his efforts and constant support, which resulted in the issuance of the Emiri Decree. |
