A conference on enriching the Middle East
economic future is to get underway at Ritz Carlton Doha hotel on Sunday 8 March 2008. Minister of Finance H.E. Yusuf
Hussein Kamal who is also acting Minister of Economy and Trade will inaugurate the conference being organized by the
conferences' standing committee at the foreign ministry in collaboration with the California university Middle East
The three-day conference is to focus on the energy and economic issues and
the growing role Asia plays in the middle east plus the regional trade in the middle east and prospects of launching
stock markets and bourses in the region.
The conference will be addressed by several well-known
speakers including the director of the Middle East development centre Prof. Stephen Speghel, the Greek deputy
maritime commerce minister, and former North Ireland Prime Minister Lord David Trimpel who is a Nobel Prize winner
and other elite personalities speaking on politics, economy, thought, and law.
The conferees will
also discuss the oil price hike, the current and long-term regional, local, and international economic investment
options and impacts of relationship between security, economy, and politics.
Foreign Minister for Follow-Up Affairs H.E. Mohamed Bin Abdullah Al-Rumahi and the director of the Middle East
development centre will address the closing session of the conference which will be attended by some 300 prominent
personalities including well-known government and business experts representing 47 countries from Asia, Europe,
northern America, and the Middle East.
