H.E the Prime Minister Opens Club de Monaco Meeting on Friday 25 February 2010 H.E. the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al-Thani opened this evening at the Four Seasons Hotel the three-day Club de Monaco meeting (Institute for Mediterranean Political Studies).
The opening session was attended by Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa, former French prime minister Michel Rocard, member of the French Senate and former French minister of foreign affairs Jean Francois Poncet, President of Club de Monaco Claude de Kemoularia, in addition to political and intellectual figures from different parts of the world.

Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said the meeting it is of important significance that the meeting should discuss means of attaining peace in the region Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said the meeting, which gathers a number of thinkers and politicians from the different parts of the world, will discuss the situation in the region from highly sensitive perspectives mainly the Iranian position regarding the nuclear weapons.
In a speech he gave before the opening session, Moussa underlined that talks, regarding the Iranian nuclear programme, should focus on the nuclear situation in the region in general and not only the Iranian situation.
He said it is of important significance that the meeting should discuss means of attaining peace in the region, underlining that such stability could not be achieved without finding a just solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict via the establishment of the State of Palestine on all its territories in the West Bank and Gaza strip with East Jerusalem as its capital.
