HH THE Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani received a US congressional delegation yesterday on the sidelines of the Sixth Doha Forum on Democracy, Development and Free Trade.
The audience was attended by Chief of the Emiri Diwan HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Saud al-Thani, HE Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad al-Thani, Qatar’s Ambassador to the US Nasser bin Hamad al-Khalifa, and director of the Foreign Ministry’s European and American affairs department Ali Fahd al-Hajiri.
The Emir also received at the Sheraton Doha a number of members of the British houses of parliament.
The audience was attended by Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Saud al-Thani, Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad al-Thani, Qatar’s Ambassador to the UK Khalid Rashid al-Mansouri and the Foreign Ministry’s al-Hajiri.
Also yesterday, the Emir received verbal messages from presidents Ali Abdullah Saleh, of Yemen, Laszlo Solyom of Hungary and James Michel of Seychelles, as well as a letter from Senegalese President Abdullah Wade, dealing with bilateral relations and means of promoting them.
The messages were conveyed by Yemeni Shura Council speaker Abdulaziz Abdul Ghani, former Hungarian prime minister Peter Medgyessi, Seychelles Foreign Minister Claude Sylvester Antony and Senegalese Minister of International Co-operation Mohamed Lamine Bah during audiences with the Emir at the Sheraton.
The Emir also received yesterday a letter from Finland’s President Tarja Halonen. The letter, which was delivered through diplomatic channels, deals with relations between Qatar and Finland. - QNA
