Consultative Meeting of The Arab Foreign Ministers

The Consultative Meeting of the Arab Foreign Ministers held on Sunday condemned and denounced the new Israeli government’s very negative statements towards peace, the Palestinians and the imposition of settlement.

The Israeli position constitutes a provocation to the Palestinians and may cause the crisis to be triggered again, the meeting convened in Doha stated.

The meeting, chaired by Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, considered the developments in the Palestinian issue and listened to a statement from the minster of foreign affairs of Palestine.

The Sunday meeting was the first after an agreement reached by the ministers last February on the importance of intensifying their consultations. Several topics were raised.

There were statements from the foreign ministers of Yamen, Libya, Lebanon, and Sudan about the situation in their countries.

Also discussed were developments of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear issue and Iranian behavior in the region and the Arab handling of the Syrian crisis.
